主旨 Infant formula

Q:

Dear Doc,

Sorry I can't type Chinese. Please excuse me.

My son has just turned 7 month old. As of now, his main diet is still breast milk. I am considering switching to infant formula. My question is whether I should switch to Stage One ( 0 - 12month ) or Stage 2 (6 - 12 month). Please advise. Thank!

My son has not slept over night yet. He wakes up approximately every half an hour demanding breast milk. Please advise what to do.

  Thank you and best regards,

                       Kxxx

Dear Kxxx:

As a pediatric doctor, we suggest breast feeding as possible as mother can do.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding for 12 months with the introduction of supplementary foods at 4 to 6 month, When the baby with breast feeding need more milk, you can introduce the infant formula.

As the experience of clinic case, the breastfeeding baby has tendency to demand milk at the short interval between two meals. If you try to switch to infant formula. Enough milk can make baby good sleeping.
